Pelajar ICYM Tawan 7 Gunung

Pendakian ke Puncak Gunung Angsi di Kuala Pilah memberi pengalaman yang amat menakjubkan kepada pelajar dan kakitangan International College Of Yayasan Melaka (ICYM) dalam dunia kembara gunung, baru-baru ini.

Permukaan tanah curam yang dipenuhi batuan bersaiz besar berjaya menguji ketahanan dan fizikal peserta Ekspedisi Cabaran 7 Gunung yang bakal menawan 6 lagi gunung iaitu Gunung Datok, Nuang, Ledang, Irau, Brinchang dan Kinabalu.

Menurut Ketua Eksekutif ICYM, Datuk Saroni Judi misi pendakian dan ekspedisi anjuran Bahagian Hal Ehwal Pelajar (HEP) untuk menawan puncak 7 Gunung ini bukanlah mudah.

“Para peserta memerlukan kekuatan fizikal dan mental untuk menghadapi rintangan dan kesukaran bentuk muka bumi yang curam untuk sampai ke destinasi.
Beliau berkata, semangat kebersamaan yang ada dalam diri para peserta bagaimanapun mendorong untuk menawan semua puncak gunung tersebut di samping mempromosi aktiviti sihat dalam kalangan pelajar.

“Saya berharap lebih ramai pelajar ICYM dapat merancang aktiviti berbentuk jati diri seperti Ekspedisi Cabaran 7 Gunung ini bagi menaikkan lagi nama pelajar dan kolej,” ujarnya lagi.

Seorang peserta, Saifolazni Salleh berkata pelbagai halangan termasuk kecerunan hampir 45 darjah selain laluan batu-batuan raksasa dan akar kayu bersaiz besar yang melambatkan pergerakan pendaki sekaligus menguji kesabaran, ketahanan mental dan fizikal.

“Ada di kalangan peserta memiliki stamina tinggi dan mereka sampai ke puncak dalam tempoh sejam setengah, tetapi ada juga mengambil masa tiga jam,” katanya.

“Aktiviti ini bukan sahaja riadah ketika hujung minggu malah antara pengisian sihat terutama dalam membina kekuatan mental dan fizikal untuk mengisi masa terluang,” katanya.

Menurut Liyana Ong pula ekspedisi ini turut membantu merapatkan hubungan antara satu sama lain selain dapat berfikiran positif untuk menawan puncak.
“Aktiviti seperti ini juga dapat mendekatkan golongan muda dengan alam sekitar, sekaligus mengajar mereka untuk lebih menghargai alam.” katanya.

“Saya lihat ramai rakan-raka saya tiba puncak, dan kerana itu saya tekad untuk tawan puncak walaupun mengambil masa agak lama dan tetapi saya berjaya tiba di puncak dan harungi pelbagai cabaran ketika mendaki,” katanya.

Pendakian selama tiga jam ke puncak dilihat benar-benar menduga kesabaran dan kekuatan peserta berdepan halangan semulajadi yang terdapat di kawasan pergunungan itu.
